Thompson Publishing Group was a leading publisher of subscription-based employment information for corporations, government agencies and non-profit organizations.

Acquired as a platform company, MidOcean set out to create a corporate culture at Thompson Publishing that valued strong management, was bottom-line focused and had an emphasis on innovation and new product development. Under MidOcean’s ownership, TPG integrated two acquisitions that generated significant synergies and improved the Company’s marketing focus and transitioned its existing content to electronic delivery thereby significantly increasing EBITDA. MidOcean sold its interest in Thompson in 2006.
