Sbarro's was the world’s leading Italian quick service restaurant concept and the largest shopping mall-based concept.
With Sbarro’s strong brand and unique positioning as the go-to Italian offering in high traffic areas, MidOcean believed that this brand was poised for significant growth. MidOcean worked closely with management to expand to reinvent and the international franchise model. MidOcean helped Sbarro to reorganize its field organization and establish a dedicated internal marketing team. In addition, MidOcean brought significant operating resources to the company with two of its executive board members joining Sbarro’s board and one of its partners stepping in as full-time interim CEO. MidOcean holdings in Sbarro's ended in December 2011.
